Adsense Optimization Secrets
Over the last week, my clickthrough rates have more than tripled. My daily earnings keep rising and rising–this week is twice last week’s earnings. You’d think there are secrets of the Adsense masters to get more clicks, more traffic, more impressions, and better cpc. Well, there are no secrets–just a few types:
Color: Choose colors that coordinate well with your blog layout. For example, all of my google adsense ads have no colored borders and match the background color. This is important–don’t alienate your readers.
Position: Position really is everything. You need to put your ads where they can be seen–on the top, the left, or the right, and always above the fold.
Variety: There are at most three ads on the site: one link-ad underneath the meta part of a single post, the all-generic sidebar ad, and on select posts, an ad block. It’s good to have several distinct types of ads on your site. Visitors that might ignore one may click on another!
Audience: You need to make sure you’re putting ads on pages that see heavy traffic. So, I use a wordpress plugin to tag a post with an <!–ADSENSE–> block and automatically insert my advert. That way I can specifically place an ad where I want it on a highly-trafficed post. Another thing I do is automatically append an adsense block on a post with very little content. I may also introduce ads in my feeds.
Doing these basic things has improved the profitability of my blog considerably. Don’t be afraid to experiment with Adsense, or be aggressive. Just don’t scare off readers.

My referrer/trackback analysis kills all links that have adsense in them since they are blogging for a profit, not for informational purposes — I don’t want them to even get a link from me. I suggest bloggers start removing advertising otherwise they’ll get fewer linkbacks as more people decide they want to reward bloggers who have more pure incentives.
Most bloggers that run adsense on their blogs only make enough to cover their hosting bills. In the real world people have bills to pay.
Seriously–I paid out mega $$$ last month in bandwidth costs, and think of the dev costs!! Even though I do my own site, it I counted the hours I work at the rate I get paid for real jobs, running my website gets quite expensive, and Adsense hardly begins to cover anything….

Nice site Thanks
Greeting To All! I have an adsense link that any Adsense Publisher would love. I have read the first and second edition of joel’s ebooks and I found the link on a couple of adsense forum and blogs that has most of his secrets. A single page that has all known Adsense secrets, tips, and optimization stradegies on the net. An incredible ebooks on the download page, also including intergration templates.
I have to agree, it is a good market to get in, but it is getting oversaturated. My earnings are rising then falling and rising again, depends on the day. You do not want to know how many sites I have to build to stay above water.
I recomend http://www.click-share.com/. I’ve used them only for 2 months and im realy satisfied from the results.
“…Most bloggers that run adsense on their blogs only make enough to cover their hosting bills.” – I’m agree ,and that’s why we need some help in Adsense content optimization. For example – I have more than 1000 click per month but this clicks are very cheap
