Google Desktop Search (GDS)
SabreGeek points out the new desktop search appliance from Google. It will index email, IM conversations, secure web transactions, Microsoft word, excel, and powerpoint, and other popular formats. Right now it reads:

Indexing is performed when your computer is idle.
