Do Cornellians Ever Sleep
Seeing the sleep apnea article stimulated my fatherly instincts and I wondered, “do Cornellians ever sleep?” I guessed that the answer would be “yes, but not much.”
My wife actually likes to sleep but in many ways it seems that a lot of the rest of us do not. My daughters like to read under the covers with a flashlight. My sons did the same though they might be indignant at the suggestion and wish to correct, “we stuffed blankets against the door and turned the light on!” The truth is they did both and so did I.
Even now, when I should be in bed getting my rest for the busy day ahead, there’s a wee voice inside that says, “explore your son’s blog,” “write at least something trivial in your son’s blog,” “show that you care.” So here I am. And if I wasn’t doing this it there would be an impulse to read one more chapter, catch the late news, or search the collective pool of ignorance that fills so much of the world wide web (do alligators populate the sewers of New York City–opinion is divided).
Elliott, get your sleep when you can. Exams are just around the corner. As for me–I’m going to bed.

I’d like to point out the eloquence of my father’s masterful sentences….hopefully after English 387 next semester I will begin to write like that, eh?

I read it and thought something along those lines, but also “So thats where Elliott gets it.” Seriously, you sound really similar.
To somehow redeem this comment from being hopelessly inane, I’d like to say that I don’t sleep, I’ve had far too much reading this Block. In addition, my Dad has sleep apnea, and also snores really loud as a related condition, and I don’t sleep better anywhere than if I can hear my Dad snoring down the hall. In the same room however? Impossible to get any sleep!
Wow. Save the comment from inanity? That didn’t exactly work. … I think I’m gonna go take a nap.
