Cal Berkeley Laptop Stolen, Sensitive Data

Today’s violation of your privacy is brought to you by the University of California, Berkeley. Someone stole a laptop from their Graduate Division containing the names, dates of birth, and social security numbers of 98,369 graduate students. And, because of California Law, the University was required to notify the public of this breach of information, meaning that the thief of the laptop now knows (for sure) exactly what it’s worth.
