Self Degrading Racial Epithet Density
So, you probably know by now that I think rap music is the most theoretically interesting modern genre. Unfortunately, rap’s full of all kinds of offensive language, one of which is the vile propensity of calling everybody “nigger” over and over. Today I think I encountered the highest density in a song verse yet. Look at the first verse of Some L.A. Niggaz by Dr. Dre:
Yeah nigger, MC Ren up in this mother*****
(West West y’all)
Yeah, L.A. niggers
L.A. niggers rule the world, nigger.
Y’all nigger’s gotta recognize, you know what I am saying?
Niggers don’t wanna peep game, you know what I am saying?
But this shit come all the way back around here.
