Assault in Seattle
So I was walking to work down King St., and at the intersection of 5th and King this rotund, black homeless guy starts saying something like, “Can you hear me with those things on.” I was listening to music, so I decided, “no, not really” and kept going. So, this guy smacks me on the upper left back part of the head (rather wimpily, I might add), and tells me how rude I am!! I didn’t feel at all in danger, so there was no reason to do anything and I just left for work.
I quite wish he hit me much harder so that at least I’d have the satisfaction of fighting back. It’s so annoying when you can’t do anything because of conscience! I should establish a policy of a quick takedown for such events in the future… even though I know fighting is a bad idea, and the best solution to a confrontation is a de-escalation.
