Adsense Earnings Cycles

Posted in Search, Google by Elliott Back on September 10th, 2005.

Some sharp analysis today by an economics major hypothesized from looking at my Adsense figures that they followed some kind of business cycle. So, we ran the numbers and found that Adsense earnings have an 83-day period from high-to-high or low-to-low. These initial findings are summarized by the following graph:

After finding these 3-month earnings cycles, we gave up on the modelling because we’d probably need a dampened oscillator function, which begins to get quite complicated. Speaking of which, I wonder if anyone’s tried large-scale analysis of Adsense trends using the public data available. I don’t see how the information could be used to your advantage quite yet, but simply knowing about mathematical patterns makes me feel better.

    Hello,

I’d like to run my own adsense results through your function.

    Thanks and best regards,

    Seun.
