Yahoo Adult Ads?

Posted in SEO, Search, Spam by Elliott Back on October 12th, 2005.

I thought that the Yahoo Publisher Network (YPN) didn’t allow adult ads? Then why am I getting this advertisement on my main page:

Adult Advertisement

While the site in question is acceptable content, I would think that the phrase “Meet Fat Sex Girl” would trigger some bayesian or LSI acceptability filters in the yahoo system and be rejected. This is a big deal for content-publishers. If yahoo demands that we keep their ads off of adult-themed pages, we demand that yahoo run work-safe ads. And, if they are not holding up their end of the bargain, a site’s reputation could be damaged by the accidentally introduced adult content.
