v7ndotcom elursrebmem SEO contest?
Apparently there’s a contest going around on the keywords V7NDOTCOM ELURSREBMEM, which involves not only a lot of tricks on Google, but some very odd pages and domains being registered. You can read more about their contest on the v7n forums, if you’re interested.
They also have a nice v7ndotcom banner to go with it:
I am not particularily interested in this contest, but I might as well post about it so you SEO geniuses can get right to work. Hell, if this post ranks well, I might even enter! May v7ndotcom elursrebmem live forever! We support v7n!
How they do it:
One interesting thing that I am noticing about this contest is that people are leveraging a few different technologies:
1) Blogs. Wordpress on custom domains, spam blogs on blogspot.
2) Google Base (Report bad items!)
3) Digg, Delicious, and other social online communities
4) Trackback and comment spamming
5) Built-for-seo sites with one or two pages
6) Ping services

If I had a monkey for evey Elursrebmem that I found I would have an V7ndotcom Elursrebmem. I know better then to keep V7ndotcom by it’s self.

Well. It will probably take some time until Google lets it in to the serps (if ever). So far, it looks like they have filtered out any results related to the keywords.
Smart move on using nofollow in the comments
But, I can see not many checked that before spamming your comments.
