Facebook API
The biggest college social networking site just released Facebook Developers, an API for interacting with Facebook data. On their news page, they write:
If you’re reading this post it means we’ve officially launched our new developer portal. This is the beta version and we’ve been working hard to provide you with a sweet development platform. If you need ideas to get started, check out the Product Directory. Facebook Developers will be evolving over the coming months, so keep your eyes peeled here for updates, or subscribe to our feed to stay up-to-date.
Unfortunately, the products directory just has two products in it right now, one of which seems a little tacky, the other completely overloaded and unviewable:
The API allows 100,000 REST queries a day to data like friends, the type of friends, photos, comments, pokes, and the wall. They also have a feed for keeping up to date with new developments.
