Chase Bank Online Error

I just got the following error from Chase Bank:

We were unable to process your change. General MQ error (2007)

On the one hand, the errors are scary. On the other hand, I’m thrilled that JP Morgan Chase Bank One and Co. are using IBM’s Websphere MQ for reliable transmission of my account information!

    I got so fed up with Chase’s errors I cut the card and went back to my AMEX.

    I’m with Chase, totally free checking account. I *love* their online banking and excellent policies. The only bank I like more is Charter One - they’re the best!

    I got this error too when i really needed to check my account status from home. very worrying and aggravating.

    I got that error little bit ago since i was going to buy something online at bestbuy.com but wanted to make sure to see if i should wait or not to check my balance I know have enough just wanted to check first so i can budget then I got that error.

    I admit by saying this that I’m a bit geeky. There is no cause for concern. I have worked for several banks, and EVERY bank is using MQ series. I am disappointed that the GUI programmers (either Java or VB) are not catching this error and letting the customer know that the system is not available - and to check back later. But, we will see a continued decline with the quality of programming as offshoring, inshoring, and outsourcing continue. Fortunately, your data security does not rely on programmers that develop the webpages displaying your account information, or else we would all be screwed.
