Don't get too excited about what Mr. Gonda said. Just a few links on technorati gets you from out of the sandbox, but it gets progressively harder to rank up. You won't be jumping 80,000 spots again. For example, a top 100 blog on technorati has around 2300 unique links. Generating links is like getting on digg… putting your content in front of the eyes of other bloggers that may want to post about it and link to your site.
