Blogs as Tools of Spam
I was cruising on Blogger the other day, going from site to site, and I found some “interesting” stuff. Within 5 minutes of random surfing, I countered 11 blogs whose sole purpose was to link to spammy websites. They had no content, no blogrolls, and none of the signs of a healthy blog. Just links to sites like this, this, and this.
Here’s a list of the offending Blogger sites:
- http://natbanking.blogspot.com/
Most of them are links farms–with the exception of the last, which has a nice layout, some cute Google adsense ads, and a little bit of content and copyright. In fact, it almost looks professional!
The only thing I don’t get. Why don’t these blog spammers create normal, real blogs with real content, get some readership, and just plug their for-profit sites every now and then, on the low and low? Deception is better than idiocy.
