Cornell is the 6th most wired Campus
In a special report in Forbes, Cornell ranks 6th in the nation for Most Connected Campuses. Some of the criteria include questions like "Is there a campuswide network?" and "Is there a wireless network?" while others are more concerned about "Can student register online?" and "Does the school stream audio or video of any courses?" It also notes that out of 13,616 undergraduate students at Cornell, there is a 19:100 computer to student ratio.
Unfortunately, Forbes gets one thing wrong. In their report on Cornell, they answer no to the question, "Do students have access to Usenet newsgroups?" This is incorrect; I use cornell.class.* and other newsgroups daily, from Cornell’s Usenet server.
