Error verifying steam user id ticket?
If you’ve ever played Counterstrike CS or you might have gotten the error error verifying steam user id ticket. It basically means that the server couldn’t authenticate you with the steam authentication servers to make sure you’re using a legit version of the game. It could be that Steam is down, but more likely it is a transient glitch. Here are some tips to solve:
- Restart steam. Close the stream from the tray, and run your game again.
- Log out of steam, then log back in. Try your game again.
- Close steam. Go Program Files then find ClientRegistry.blob in your steam directory and delete it. Restart steam.
- Close steam. Then update your system clock and start up steam again.
If this doesn’t solve it, you should email steam / valve tech support, or go leave a post on their forums.

I know the steam error doesn’t look quite as good as ^, but I figured a mockup was better than none.

Deleting the ClientRegistry.blob -File and re-starting Steam Helped me! Thank you!
bloody steam
worked fine! Deleting the ClientRegistry.blob -File good tip!
where can i find the clientregistry.blob?
can you give me instructions on how to find the file
tyvm
the .blob file is in your main steam folder. if you don’t know where that is, just do a file search for *.blob. that will find all .blob files on your computer. you can then delete the one you want.
and thanks to whoever posted the solution. it worked for me.
Thx so much man now i can play CSS
I deleted it and during the update I get this error : unable to open steamtmp.exe for writing
Works well, thanks

How about just renaming the file? It works the same, but I guess you get to have the old file for backup
worked great thanks
works great..you just have to delete that *.blob file
thanks
Thanks, great help.
Thanks alot man
I was guna tell mah dad to rebuy css lmfao wasnt for you i woulda have wasted 25$
This works. its just like anyone who plays world of warcraft who has chat problems, if you delete the WTF folder everything will work just fine when you reload. What happens is the server you try to connect to recognizes that you do not have this file and re downloads this automatically upon start up.
that did the trick, thanks Elliott
works thns
Thanks Elliott… I had just recently setup a server for dod and thought that it was my server till i saw your post….logging out of steam and logging back in solved the problem…
Thanks again!
HEY THANKZ MATE TY ALOT
thanks brilliant
Thanks Removing the file ClientRegistry.blob Fixed the prob Steam Updated and is now running. The problem occured when i was uploading pictures to my “Sparys” the game froze then crashed. When i tryed to log on a server to play it gave me the message.
Just change the filename to ClientRegistry.old instead of deleting it, then you have a backup if you need to revert.
Yup. My roommate got this error and I googled it for him. deleting the .blob worked..now he can go back to his addiction hahahah
deleting the blob wok perfectly thanks much.
I Think the ClientRegistry.blob worked

Deleted client registry, now after I start css and attempt joining a server it says something like this steam account does not own this game please log on to the correct steam account. DO NOT DELETE YOUR CLIENTREGISTRY.BLOB!
NVM, just after you delete and update your steam u must restart steam again =]
Hey thanks works fine
if you are wondering where to find client registry blob go to my computer-c drive-program files-steam- then client registry blob is found in that folder
Although deleting ClientRegistry.blob makes Steam take some time to reinitialize, it perfectly does the job of removing this error.
i tried it and it don't work. steam put the same thing on the support site and all it does is re install the missing files….i doesn't work
Thanks, worked fine.
For whoever asked, Clientregistry.blob is located at “C:Program FilesSteam”
when i delete the .blob file and update steam it just makes a new file with the same name and i get the same error message any help?
