Gmail April 1st Cutie
GMail has gone all cute and April 1st on us:

On the homepage, they write:
A Google approach to math.
On the eve of Gmail’s one-year birthday, our engineers were toiling away furiously. Notes scribbled all over the walls. Complex calculations on napkins and empty pizza boxes. Millions of M&Ms.
The result?… starting today, we’re beginning the roll-out of our new and top secret Infinity+1 storage plan. The key features are: Write, don’t worry. You want to stop caring about storage.
We want to keep giving you more. Today, and beyond. The gift that keeps on giving. 1367.906916 megabytes of storage (and counting) for every user. No complicated equations. No tough algorithms. Just this one graph.
I would like infinity + 1 space, please?

Do you not have a gmail account? I could give you an invite if you need it.
They have apparently doubled account space to 2gb though, which is nice.
I wonder if that decision was made before or after Yahoo! went 1 GB.
Definately after. I think Yahoo! announced that a few days ago didn’t they? Gmail only upped the storage today as far as I’m aware.
I have a few GMail accounts, thanks! But the storage uppage is pretty cool…
I like what they’ve done too. They’ve basically said we have indefinate storage. That can not be topped, only matched.
I fell for that!
