Google Adsense drops in SERPS for “Adsense”

Posted in Google, Humour, SEO, Spam by Elliott Back on May 24th, 2005.

Jensense and others point out that a Google query for Google AdSense no longer shows Google Adsense in the #1, but rather something called http://www.all-in-one-business.com/adsense/. The source to the hijacking page, which just refreshes itself immediately to the true Google Adsense page, is:

<HTML>
<HEAD>
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="0;
URL=https://www.google.com/adsense/">
<TITLE></TITLE>
</HEAD>
<BODY>
</BODY>
</HTML>

And, here’s a screenshot of the hijacking:

    I was aware of 302 hijacking. But I thought that Google had essentially fixed this and related problems. This is… amusing. :)

    I was talking to a new Google hire today about the redirect problems, and told him his #1 priority there should be to fix them. He said, “Should I tell them before or after I’m pushed out the door.” Someone I doubt they’ll ever fix it…

  3. Denis says:

    Well, I imagine that if they don’t solve it sooner or later, those who are into web site defacement will eventually start SEO businesses.

  4. Nice post, lol, too bad I didn’t read it earlier.

    Its not just Adsense either. Google has been out SEO’d on all of their services except tools that have SEO departments.
