Google Analytics (Urchin)

Posted in Google, Search by Elliott Back on November 14th, 2005.

… is now free. Signup now! So far I don’t have any traffic to measure with this free web hit counter (limited to 5m impressions a month for non-Adwords users), but it looks potentially pretty:

Google Urchin

This is a 5m/100 = 50,000 times better than statcounter for tracking visitor data. After a quick 1-day test on this blog, I’ll probably want to roll it out everywhere.

Update:

They seem to be down right now, a victim of their own popularity, as is usual whenever Google rolls out a large service. *rolls eyes* How can they keep their reputation if everything they build doesn’t scale?

We’re upgrading accounts. Please come back later.

Thanks for stopping by. We are currently migrating existing customers to the newly improved Google Analytics service. This process will be completed later this afternoon. Please come back then to sign up for Google Analytics.

  1. Anyone knows when the service stop to accept new users? Around the first weeks of November 2005?

  2. Only a ****** would use this ****

Google Analytics Urchin Module = ******* Spyware

Just another reason to run web filteration toolz and keep javascr1pt
    and c00kies switched off

Locate where the sun don’t shine and insert urchin spyware module there

The only one problem is GA (previously Urchin) doesn’t stores your detailed log entries. You will see just the summaries. Also GA doesn’t seems to be real time… Updates between 6-24 hours. StatCounter shows you real numbers immediately!

Add the following to your HOSTS file

    ____________________________________________

    # [Google Inc]
    127.0.0.1 http://www.google-analytics.com

    ____________________________________________

It will prevent the google urchin spyware from loading

Oh and hey Gio and Clock Shucker, what is it about you Amerikans?
why do you always have to bring the **** into the picture?

Could it be that you are all closet-homos? That would explain why
your women look like drag queens with all of that silicon and make-up,
and it would also explain your tendancy to invade sovreign nations
and murder civilians while you try to prove you are real men.
