How to crash and restore your Creative Vision M

Posted in Computers & Technology, Humour by Elliott Back on February 11th, 2006.

The Creative Vision M, early 2006’s best mp3 player, can be crashed while playing a video and rapidly changing the playback speed:

Vision M Crash

It will just hang on a particular video frame and speed on the display, and not do anything. Inserting the Creative dock doesn’t help. However, a quick pinprick to the reset button located on the bottom panel of the device will restore it to perfect working order. It seems that you shouldn’t make it possible to scroll through playback speed settings at high speed…

Anyone know how to recover a screen that has gone totally black? Zen M still works but nothing shows up. I listen to books constantly. I can download and guess what I am pulling up. My Zen is 2 years old. I have had all of the issues that you guys have mentioned. When all else fails, leave it alone for a few days and let it totally die. Get a wall charger and plug it in. I have had to do that several times. Also, it (when the screen worked) would stick several times a day sometimes. Put a straight pin in the hole in the bottom and let it reset. I LOVE THIS THING!!! It is an addiction. If you can offer any help on getting the screen back, I would appreciate it. It has not imploded like a lot of them, it just died.

had the same problem that a lot of other people had. Rebuild sticks at about 15-20% and then only a portion of the files on the player are viewable even though the same amount od diskspace is taken up. thanks to this site i have formated the drive and it is now recognised by my PC. great! i have to re load all my files but that’s no problem. thanks again.

About a year ago my awesome creative product: The Vision m, froze. Then the battery died, and so I just thought I could plug it in, charge it, and all will be well. I was wrong. Unfortunately, when I plugged it in, let it charge for a day, then tried to turn it on all I got was a sad S.O.S sign, “ the blue light flashing to let you know that it is trying to turn on”, and nothing else. So I searched it over the web and found out that others MP3 players had suffered the same untimely demise and were looking for a solution as I was. Unfortunately, I could not find a solution. So let it sit in a Ziploc bag, in my drawer, until now. One year later I hope that SOMEONE ANYONE has found a solution to my problem so that I can once again utilize this wonderful piece of technology!
