Hey guys, im having the exact same problem. I dropped my 30gb on the ground and it froze. So i put my pencil in the reset button, and then when i turned it on, my screen was flashing. it was still working with all colors, but it had a constant flash to it. I dealt with it for a few days and then i downloaded some new songs. So i tried putting them on and syncing the songs took way longer that normal. So once i unplugged it, I tried playing the song and it wouldn't play. Soo i impatiently let it sit there and then it got to the home menu. So i tried playing another song that was on there before it worked fine. Soo i deleted it and put a different album on and it had the same problem. So i reboot it and now im getting a Firmware Problem error message and i cant turn the mp3 player off. Im assuming the problem occurred when i dropped it. I must have damaged something. But I guess now this mp3 is completely useless. If anyone has a suggestion, or anything that could MAYBE help, please feel free to email me A7Xguitarshreder@aim.com.
Thanks!

had the same problem that a lot of other people had. Rebuild sticks at about 15-20% and then only a portion of the files on the player are viewable even though the same amount od diskspace is taken up. thanks to this site i have formated the drive and it is now recognised by my PC. great! i have to re load all my files but that's no problem. thanks again.
