You forgot to continue Dennis....

- After they leave everyone behind (with unfair business practices) they allow technology to stagnate.

- Finally notice when another company starts to succeed with a new or improved technology.

- Copies the new or improved technology (sometimes buys it, but often steals it, hence all the lawsuits).

- Fails to succeed with their often-second-rate copy.

- Finally resorts to sabotaging the other company, through FUD, payoffs, polluting standards, and so on.

- Gets a slap on the wrist from the courts or settles with the innovating company.

- Profit!

- Goto step 1

They have been VERY successful.

As always. Microsoft always get things wrong in v1. It then gets very average by v2. And then leaves everyone behind by v3.
