Mangled in Translation

Posted in Computers & Technology, Humour by Elliott Back on December 23rd, 2005.

Lost in Translation wonders, “What happens when an English phrase is translated (by computer) back and forth between 5 different languages?” As you can imagine, the results are hilarious. 50 Cent’s In Da Club becomes:

If GONE, GONE, GONE, GONE he, GONE he, GONE he, GONE he shorty; it is its anniversary!

Classics, like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star are rendered as:

Tonhoehenschwankung, tonhoehenschwankung, little infuence the first paper,
because they are I is I am strange, of which which you he are!
To the advanced excess of the raised world lateral it has taste of him,
makes shine like diamonds in the sky.

OK, that last one didn’t make sense. Short phrases work best! Much wealth!
