Beautiful, but then again, so is Cornell. In Texas, we get hot and flat.

If you liked that side of Rainier, you’ll like the end of the Mt Baker Highway, too. Artist’s Point, etc, is very beautiful, and you have Baker and Shuksan both just staring you in the face, big as life, and then some…

I lived in the Seattle Tacoma area for 30+ Years and am a native Texan. 5 years ago in 2003 I got STUPID and moved to New Jersey in search of work that I could support my wife and daughter on.
I know EVERY inch of MY MOUNTAIN (RAINIER) and it will always be a part of me right down to my core. I could take you places around the mountain THAT WOULD ABSOLUTELY BLOW YOUR MIND. Places that are so quiet that you can hear your own heart beat (literally) I know of a cabin and have styayed there on the Pacific Crest Trail that the USFS maintains that is a 2 day hike from Windy Gap that is so prestine it makes you wish you could just say (TO HELL WITH THE REST OF THE WORLD) I'm stayin here.
I'm in the process of setting up my own blog of photos and history to MY MOUNTAIN and will send it to you once complete so you can enjoy it as I have enjoyed yours. Love your photos. Photos tell the whole story. ANYONE WHO HAS NEVER BEEN THERE CANNOT COMPREHEND WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT UNLESS THEY HAVE BEEN THERE AND HAD THE DISTINCT PLEASURE OF EXPERIENCING IT FIRST HAND. Once they hae done that then they TOO can and WILL say they are too apart of MY MOUNTAIN.
Feel free to email me if you wish at satinsoul19944@yahoo.com Please do I would love to FINALLY talk to someone from my part of the world for a change and maybe make a new friend. See Ya
    Michael
P.S. I know of a spot where you can see Rainier, ST Helens, Baker, Hood and Adams all from the same spot. If you want some GREAT photos thats the place. Email me and I'll give you directions to get there. (*WARNING MAKE SURE YOUR TANK IS FULL BECAUSE IT'S A LONG DRIVE) and STEEP
