If it's less than 5%, save the money! Banks are 5%+ and CDs are 6-7% (and those are just the risk-free investments). If you're talking about ~$20,000, the interest gains are worth it. I paid off my Cornell loans in less than a year and kind of regret it. Pay the minimum, and collect.
