Pagerank Update in Play

Posted in Google, SEO by Elliott Back on October 20th, 2005.

There’s currently a pagerank update going on–you can figure out your future pagerank by querying different datacenters with this tool from SEOChat:

While PageRank is not the be-all and end-all of websites or your blog network, a higher pagerank does seem to indicate a more long-lasting and popular site. I am lucky to see mine rise from 5 to 6 this cycle, on my main domain and larger blogs, and from 0 to 3 on some of my new blogs.

This is my new blog and I see an unbelievable figure in the future page rank tool. How true is that tool?

    You’re getting a PR of 5? That’s not unbelievable, just nice ^_^

  5. This was my first PR and four of my five websites and two blogs went from 0 to 4. One website remained zero…www.dontshopatwalmart.com.

What I want to know is what can I do in the next few months to get a boost in the next PR from 4 to maybe five or six? Do I have to be linked to sites with a higher PR than 4 to rise above 4 or can i have a lot of links to lower PR sites?

theres nothing wrong if your PR hasnt moved in 6 months its obviouse, however if successfull by the end of the month it should have moved as the google updates are now happening after a long wait of 6 months since the last update, at http://www.googlebugs.com there are results/stats that show the updates are going through

    thanks
