Star Wars Ascii Animation over Telnet

Posted in Computers & Technology, Movies by Elliott Back on January 12th, 2006.

Telnet to towel.blinkenlights.nl and you’ll get to watch a live original Star Wars (IV) ascii movie. Here’s a preview, it’s totally awesome:

                                           /~\
                                          |oo )         At last!
                                          _\=/_
                          ___            /  _  \
                         / ()\          //|/.\|\\
                       _|_____|_       ||  \_/  ||
                      | | === | |      || |\ /| ||
                      |_|  O  |_|       # \_ _/ #
                       ||  O  ||          | | |
                       ||__*__||          | | |
                      |~ \___/ ~|         []|[]
                      /=\ /=\ /=\         | | |
      ________________[_]_[_]_[_]________/_]_[_\_________________________

If this post slides off the screen, it’s because ASCII art, even when not animated, is typically way too wide. I’ve tried to reduce the font, but it’s just an estimate.
