Technorati Ping Favelet

Posted in Blogging, Code by Elliott Back on March 14th, 2005.

Ever wanted to send Technorati an XML/RPC ping manually, but without the hassle of typing your long url? Then this ping favelet is for you. Just right click the following link and save it to your bookmark folder. Whenever you want to ping a particular page, just navigate there and hit the “Ping Technorati” link:

Ping Technorati

This favelet is quite simple–it just accesses the Technorati manual ping page with a GET parameter–your current page. It should be cross browser. Suggestions welcome.

Seems like a great idea, but it has the same issue — something in Technorati blocks or does not recognize certain sites. Doh!

  2. Hi Elliot,

I actually had figured out the part about the ‘manual’ update, but I didn’t think of passing my own url as a parameter to the page.

    I’ll test it out.

    Cheers,

    Oscar
