The Best Home Consumer-Grade Digital Camera?
If you’ve got $450 to spend, and want to take some high-quality photographs, then I’d recommend the Sony Cybershot DSC-H5 7.2MP Digital Camera with 12x Optical Image Stabilization Zoom. Take a look at the camera itself:

- 3.0-inch LCD display
- 12x Optical Zoom
- Super SteadyShot optical image stabilization
- ISO 1000
- VGA (640 x 480) video at up to 30 frames per second
Like all Sony cameras, you can expect great image quality, good features, and an easy to use interface. What sets it apart from a smaller, more portable digital camera is the extreme zoom options–great for taking shots of your kids’ soccer games–and the image stabilization, which prevents blurriness. Looks like a great camera and the price is good, but there’s one problem: it’s a Sony. I was looking at the DSC-N1 and finally decided against it because, well, it’s also a Sony.

What you want is an IXUS 80 IS! Zoom ain't as good, but more MP and it's a hell of a lot smaller!
