It's quite interesting. The basic concept is that the more patriarchal (or male-dominated) a society, the more likely they are to be heavy meat-eating societies. Further, she discusses the techniques we use to mentally separate meat, in the form most of us eat it, from the animal it came from...and how the techniques are similar to ways such a society uses language and imagery to keep women on a lower strata than men. I haven't read it in years, so my memory is sketchy, but that's the gist as I recall. I wish you had gone. I would be fascainted to see wat you took away from it.
