Wow!! The network monitor looks so much more sophisticated!

System properties remains the same, just prettier.

Volume, as you know, can be configured per-application. Would be nice if it could be configured per-app-per-stream-per-frequency but that’s probably too much work for poor Vista.

And our pretty media player… so clean and fresh!

You shouldn’t be having ANY problems with the sound, it may have been the method of install, etc.
i would suggest installing the CL Drivers that came with this product for pure performance :)

I stick rather to the rule: Never change a running system.

I was initially quite excited about this whole Vista thing due to their name change. But having seen the screenshots on this page my excitement has fizzled to almost nonexistent. For starters, I see that all that supposedly “next gen” font technology has neither been implemented, nor show any hint of it being included in Vista in the near future. Btw, what’s with the Win95 generic installer icon on the desktop? Shouldn’t they have changed that by now?

On the other hand, I have been playing around with OS X x86 installed on a generic P4. It’s proving to be more stable, and hosts tons more eyecandies than even a geek is supposed to have with all his desktop mods. And all this running on just an Intel GMA 900 chip. It just works.

I recently enjoyed a live demonstration by someone who attended the PDC 2005. It was nice but I must admit that for me personally there’s nothing much new and exciting about Windows Vista. I’ve been using most of the novelties included with it for months already because I’m running Mac OS X Tiger on a dual G5. From what I see now, Microsoft will have caught up with Tiger when they release Vista.

The bad news for Redmond however is the fact that Mac OS X ‘Lion’ will be released by the time Vista comes out. Running on Intel hardware too.

If Jobs ever decides to unleash his OS to not just Macs but any PC at a lower price point than Microsoft I guess Redmond’s going to get some serious trouble!
