Did you know that Christopher Walken is (apparently) running for the 2008 election?
Now you do. You can check out his qualifications on IMDB. However, since the domain is only a few days old, I think it’s unlikely that Mr. Walken is actually running for president…

The site is a hoax. I spoke to Maura Buxbaum at ID PR, Walken’s publicist. She said that Walken “has no aspirations for public office.”

I have deep respect for Mr. Walken. It would be nice to have a president who can intimidate with a look AND give us more cow bell.
I would vote for Christopher if he changed his stance on guns. It is our constitutional right to bear arms. We are steadily losing our ownership rights and when they are gone only the criminals will have weapons. It is a proven fact that crime goes UP when citizens are unarmed.
The gang members on my street have guns. As a citizen I don’t want my right to own a gun and my right to protect my family taken away. At a time when our rights are stripped away more and more each day this will not fly.
Focus on criminals not on law abiding, armed citizens.
Just so you know, Tristan, it is not a proven fact that crime goes down when citizens are unarmed. In fact, the ‘civilized’ countries in which guns are banned from the general public voilent crimes involving guns is very low. Take Denmark for example: the only people who have guns are the police and criminals. However, Denmark averages less than 10 murders a year. Its the same for many scandinavian countries and other countries in europe. Also, many gun-related crimes are between criminals. Most people who get shot did something to provoke it. And lets say you do have a gun in the house, do you have kids? You want to keep it locked up to keep them from hurting themselves right? Well, how do you plan to effectivaly engage an intruder when the gun is locked up? Especially since most intruders don’t announce themselves when they come into your home. Even if you carry it around with you. A gang member etc. comes after you, it will be by surprise. You won’t risk your life or the lives of your family going for your weapon will you? Trust me, you’re not fast enough, and there is probably more than one of them. Are you trained in the use of a handgun? Most people who own firearms are not. Which means even given an opperunity, they cant engae a treat fast or effective enough. You’ll just end up killing somebody not involved, not the ‘gang-bangin’ threat. Think it over. By the way, if you think I don’t know what I am talking about: I come from a family of cops, and I am an active duty Marine. I know a think or two about guns.
i have family in the military and law enforcement, they believe that people should own guns so dont go by one person. You almost make the generalization that just because you know how to use them other people shouldnt?
Sorry but I agree with what tristan said. We should not have the right to defend ourselves with the same weapons being used against us taken away. And actually it is a proven fact that crime rate goes up when the general public is unarmed. About Chris though, i know that he’s for stem cell research, but does anyone know where he stands on *** marriage?
I think he should be secretary of defense… cause he kicks ***. Or maybe director of arts education, cause we all need a little more cowbell in our lives.

If God Will’s You to be President you will be. Future already made. We need a True Person. No bullcrap person. You cannot change the world that is Millions of years old. Save a few. All of you are crazy. Guns or no guns, who cares? That’s a small issue in this country. We need more cowbell, and that’s the story here. Christopher Walken will deliver on that need.
